Hill International is seeking a Constrcution Claims Manager in Los Angeles, California
Responsibilities:
Assists project staff with the prevention, management, and defense of claims including the management of issues with claims potential. Claim Prevention - Periodic monitoring of, and feedback on, the management of projects and the administration of construction . Claim Preparation- Review of the project documents and records along with other pertinent information to support the District's position. Establishes entitlement o Develops impacted analysis Evaluates damages Delays impact analysis Standard care evaluations Productivity analysis and Merit analysis Contract/entitlement analysis Cause/effect analysis Schedule of analysis Assessment of damages Report preparation Claim Resolution Negotiation and mediation support Arbitration and litigation support Supervision - Coordinates and provides leadership for claims team supporting District Construction projects Claim Management and Defense - Reviews and analyzes project documents and records along with other pertinent information to establish support for the District's position. Issue Management - Assist's project staff with the management of issues affecting time and cost. Review's drawings, specifications, submittals, RFI's, etc., to determine issue merit. Evaluates standard of care in managing issues o Evaluates issue contribution to the cause / effect of impacts such as disruption, resequencing, and delays. Recommends issue management approaches to mitigate impacts. Schedule Analysis - Analyzes time extension requests o Evaluates entitlement to time extensions. Evaluates compensability o Prepares owner's time extension evaluation alternate to proposals. Damage Assessment - Evaluates requests for increased, extended and unabsorbed field and home office overhead. Evaluates requests of productivity loss reimbursement o Evaluates direct cost claims. Claim Resolution - Negotiation and mediation support, arbitration and litigation support. Other Skills - Written report preparation, verbal presentations, graphics preparation in support of analysis conclusions. Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Must have received or be willing to receive the Covid-19 vaccination by date of hire. Medical or Religious exemptions will be considered. Proof of vaccination required. Required
Experience:
15 years full time paid professional experience in managing a Claims Department responsible in analyzing construction claims on large commercial or public projects or programs. Minimum of 8 years directly managing and supervising a technical team of varying skill levels in support of construction claims. General working knowledge of the California Contract Code. Experience with Primavera 15.1 or higher. Required Education:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management or Law. Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential may be substituted for the required education. Completion of 10-hour Cal OSHA Occupational Safety and Health.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Construction & Real EstateEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
