Director of Internal Development at Netflix in Los Angeles, CA

Netflix is looking for an experienced Director of Internal Development to join us in delivering the next generation of video games for a worldwide audience. This role reports directly to the VP in charge of game studios and will be a key stakeholder in building an internal studio organization capable of consistently producing massively successful original games for the Netflix games service. They will focus on excellence in game development across studios, working with studio heads and teams to create the ideal environment for the best creative talent in the industry to flourish. The job will require a holistic approach to the building and management of a worldwide studio organization via organic growth as well as M&A.
Responsibilities:
Partner with studio heads, program managers, and a variety of cross-functional teams (HR, talent acquisition, communications, legal, finance, central tech, product, and others) to solve problems, remove obstacles, and empower our talented game teams to create great games. Own the consolidated view of the internal studio's portfolio, help studios build out their teams, and work to create a community across the different studios. Partner with Game Operations to develop, roll out and operate the GDF. Work with the Studios to harmonize their development processes and frameworks with the new standard. Collaborate with the VP of internal studios and studio heads to develop the first party portfolio strategy and game slate, and work with the studios to enable their teams to deliver against their commitments. Participate in every step of the M&A funnel from helping set the strategy to leading relevant aspects of due diligence to ensure the smooth and successful integration of acquired studios. Requirements:
Deep empathy for game development teams. Expert knowledge and a minimum of 10
years of direct experience managing all aspects of game development (from R&D through launch and live operations), ability to anticipate issues and come up with creative solutions. A mix of internal and external development is a plus. Proven ability to build and foster a great game-making culture within studios. Experience managing multiple teams or studios on different continents.
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
HR Management, Organization Development & TrainingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
