Device Software Engineer - UI & Integrations

At Brava you'll have the opportunity to work from home alongside some of the industry's leading chefs, scientists, designers, physicists, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers to deliver high end consumer products. We maintain a small company vibe as an independent division under the umbrella of a publicly traded Fortune 1000 parent. You'll be on the front lines crafting impactful code that ships straight to our customers. You'll own entire features from top to bottom, sometimes spanning from web to mobile and the Brava itself. The Role:
As a Device Software Engineer at Brava you will have the coveted opportunity to ship code to our customer's kitchens on the Brava device itself. You'll own features that are released in OTA updates in a monthly release cycle. Don't worry if you have never built software for an embedded device before, -- we set it up so it's similar to writing code for a mobile app and we welcome applicants with a desire to learn new things. Things You'll Own/Do:
Implement and iterate on innovative features on our custom Linux-powered touch screen device Integrate with web and mobile applications via a secure always-on connection and backend API's Interface with the microcontroller-based power control systems to translate low level controls into easy- to- use customer facing features Work closely with our product, QA, and design team to deliver first class customer experiences Participate in peer code reviews to both give and receive feedback Work on new, yet to be announced, products we can't talk about here Our Ideal Candidate Has:

years experience shipping always-connected products Experience shipping products with some of the following:
Python, TypeScript, React/React Native, Node.js, QtT, C/C+
Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience following the direction of designers and product managers Bonus Points For:
Mobile or web app development experience Experience with Gitflow or other similar development workflows Experience developing consumer targeted applications A passion for building secure and accessible products Why You Should Work Here:
