Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in related area Master's degree (Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Risk Management, Public Health, Project Management, or Informatics focus preferred) Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
Required Qualifications 5 years demonstrated professional experience at a similar level of complexity, including responsibility for the management of multiple major projects and programs, knowledge of healthcare informatics, problem-solving, identification of high-risk patterns, and formulation of strategic recommendations. Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives, working on cross-functional teams, and managing communication with patients, visitors, staff, clinical providers, and executive leadership. Expert interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, active listening skills and highly effective team leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to create and execute business strategic plans, including complex analysis of industry and organization status, integration of regulatory requirements, goal planning, and budgeting. Ability to clearly identify and convey key points from complex analyses and proposals in both formal and informal settings. Experience in independently organizing and defining tasks, setting priorities, independent work, and operating effectively and efficiently under fluctuating, high-risk, and emergent conditions while delivering the desired results on or below budget and successfully meeting deadlines. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential material with discretion. Demonstrated knowledge of business analytics, decision analysis, claims strategy, and educational programming. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing teams/staff and responsiveness to senior leadership. Advanced skills to appropriately and efficiently respond to and direct the response to emergencies and critical situations, including follow-up evaluation and critique of response efficacy; skills to create, develop and implement changes to emergency situations as required. Advanced skills in managing highly complex budgets. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Adobe InDesign, SharePoint, and data analytics software (i.e., PowerBI, Tableau, Python, etc.) In-depth knowledge of the Culture of Safety individual elements . Required License/Certification:
Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date (Required within LA City only). Reporting to the Executive Administrator, the Senior Manager is to provide leadership, policy direction, and oversight of all prevention and loss control programs, including the Culture of Safety Initiative, Risk Analytics, and Risk Education Programs, for all Keck Medicine of USC and USC Care Medical Group facilities. They are responsible for supporting the Executive Administrator in identifying and developing strategies to minimize the impact of risk, developing a center of excellence for managing risk, and strategically integrating risk, claims, and finance disciplines to reduce loss, improve financial stability, and protect resources in support of Keck's mission. In addition to management of the above programs, this position will work with leaders enterprise-wide to continue growing awareness of a Culture of Safety, formally bringing consideration of risks into strategic decision making for the involved programs. This involves, but is not limited to, selection and oversight of the design, creation, and maintenance of data infrastructure and programs that evaluate and monitor areas of risk throughout the health system, loss prevention initiatives, and regulatory compliance issues related to the above programs. In particular, the Senior Manager is responsible for education and influence for the Medical Staff leaders and Department Chairs to showcase the value of participating in program offerings for physicians and to continue growing awareness of the available resources, including representing the related programs and initiatives at all relevant committees. The Senior Manager also oversees the Master in Health Administration (MHA) Residencies for the office. The Senior Manager is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in health care informatics, enterprise-wide program development, project management, and educational programming. They are responsible for budgeting programs and initiatives under their direction and may provide backup support and coverage to other Risk Director positions, as needed. This position collaborates closely with the Senior Clinical Director, Director of Claims and Finance, Office of General Counsel, medical center Risk Directors/managers, and Senior Physician and Administrative Leadership. The role is critical to the Office's commitment to providing integrated, collaborative, and evidence-based enterprise risk management at Keck Medicine of USC.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
