Sr. Video Player Engineer - iOS
An entertainment organization in California is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff Remotely as their new Senior Video Player Engineer - iOS.
In this role, the Senior Video Player Engineer - iOS will be responsible for working closely with Engineering/Product/Project Management and Backend Technology Services teams to build video player features that contribute to the organization's video streaming initiatives.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Video Player Engineer - iOS will:
Lead the design, architecture and implementation of player features on iOS / tvOS Lead efforts in performance, scalability, security, architecture and engineering best practices Track and prioritize numerous tasks for various team members Provide technical specifications and documentation Collaborate with team members to deliver software using agile methodologies Accomplish engineering and organization missions by completing related results as needed Support and develop software engineers by providing coaching and educational opportunities Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Excellent programming skills in Swift, Objective C Experience with Cocoa design patterns, XCode tools Experience building components to support video playback, user interfaces, video metadata, and third-party integrations Experience leading a mobile application team at a tech company Demonstrable knowledge of building responsive user experiences across phones and tablets Experience with RESTful APIs, unit testing and end-end testing Git, SVN, Jenkins, Docker, Agile methodologies Excellent documentation skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills Experience with UML diagrams Experience with video streaming technologies (HLS) Experience with video QoE metrics, ABR algorithms, video player frameworks (AVPlayer, AV Foundation) Experience with analytics platforms (Conviva, Segment) Recommended Skills Agile Methodology Algorithms Apple Xcode Architecture Attention To Detail Backend Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
