Our upscale restaurant, nestled in the picturesque Hollywood Hills, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fish Cutter to join our culinary team.
As a Fish Cutter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and freshness of our seafood offerings.
You will be responsible for expertly preparing and cutting a variety of fish to exact specifications, maintaining high standards of food safety, and contributing to the overall success of our kitchen operations.
Responsibilities:
Fish Preparation:
Skillfully clean, fillet, debone, and portion various types of fish, adhering to established guidelines and maintaining a focus on quality and presentation.
Quality Control:
Inspect all fish for freshness, proper texture, and appearance, promptly disposing of any substandard products.
Inventory Management:
Monitor fish inventory levels and communicate with the kitchen management to ensure an adequate supply of fish is available for daily service.
Food Safety:
Strictly follow all food safety and sanitation standards to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Collaborate with Kitchen Staff:
Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of fish dishes, collaborating to achieve seamless service.
Menu Development:
Collaborate with the culinary team to explore new fish varieties and preparations that align with the restaurant's theme and concept.
Equipment Maintenance:
Regularly clean, sanitize, and maintain all fish-cutting equipment to ensure longevity and proper functioning.
Training and Development:
Stay updated on industry trends and techniques related to fish cutting and share knowledge with colleagues to promote continuous improvement.
Skills Required:
Proven experience as a Fish Cutter or similar role in a high-end restaurant or seafood establishment.
Exceptional knife skills and mastery in various fish-cutting techniques.
Deep understanding of different fish species, their characteristics, and appropriate handling methods.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring precision and consistency in fish preparation.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, as per restaurant needs.
