Quality Manager
Velocity Aerospace Group is a subsidiary of a Precision Aviation Group (PAG), a full service, inventory supported MRO provider in the aviation industry with 23 domestic and international business units.
Velocity operates 3 repair stations, specializing in the repair, overhaul, installation and upgrade of electromechanical, digital, pneumatic, avionic and gyroscopic components for aircraft operators and maintainers in the commercial/regional airline, government and defense operation, business and general aviation markets.
Our EDN Van Nuys, California facility has an opening for a Quality Manager position.
The Quality Manager will plan, coordinate and direct quality control program designed to ensure continuous quality of product is consistent with the established standards.
Key Responsibilities include:
Develop and analyze statistical date to determine component specification for quality and reliabilityCreate and maintain quality control objectives and implement inspection criteria and proceduresFacilitate airline auditsCoordinate objectives on production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costsSupervise and maintain inspection and testing activity to ensure continuous improvement on material, facility and productInterpret test data on product to determine root cause of failures and recommend corrective actionsMaintain and interpret revision on quality control procedure manualBuild rapport with vendor for purchase of quality material for company useCreate and direct environmental test functionsDesign and implement quality control training programsCoordinate, assist and manage quality audit request, investigate customer complaints and adjust accordinglyRequirements include:
Bachelor's degree (B.
A.
/B.
S) or 4 years' related experience6 years' experience working with FAAAbility to work well in a self-directed or team environmentProficiency in computer skills (MS Word, Office, Excel)Ability to read, write, and comprehend in EnglishStrong communication and interpersonal skillsFlexibility to work overtime and/or weekends when neededMeet physical requirement:
