KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Senior Estate Planning Attorney:
including elder law knowledge; passion for public trust; Bilingual in Spanish preferred Our is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Public Interest Attorney with expertise in estate planning to assist vulnerable community members in preserving generational wealth.
Through grant funding, will be providing pro-bono legal services in the area of estate planning to the LA County Community, prioritizing BIPOC families in the highest COVID risk areas of LA County.
The Senior Attorney will play a crucial role in building a new program focused on estate planning and will also provide legal services in other areas (family law, immigration, civil issues etc.
) to patients of Client.
This position requires a commitment to outreach and informative presentations, and the ability to supervise a staff attorney, paralegal, and intake coordinator.
This position is grant funded.
The grant is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2024.
The grant may or may not be funded again after that date.
Your employment beyond the grant expiration date is not guaranteed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a combination, but not necessarily all, of the following duties:
Estate Planning:
Provide comprehensive estate planning services to vulnerable community members, including wills, trusts, advanced healthcare directives, guardianship nomination forms and other related documents.
Travel is required for home visits.
Outreach and Education:
Conduct outreach activities to identify and engage with potential clients in the community.
Organize informative presentations and workshops on estate planning to educate community members about their options.
Program Development:
Collaborate with the organization's leadership to develop and implement a new estate planning program tailored to the needs of the community.
Supervision:
Supervise a staff attorney, paralegal, and intake coordinator to ensure efficient program operations and high-quality service delivery.
Grant Compliance:
Ensure compliance with grant requirements, reporting, and documentation.
Legal Services:
Provide legal services in other areas as needed to patients of Client, such as immigration, family law and general civil matters.
Client Advocacy:
Advocate for clients' best interests and work to protect and preserve generational wealth.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position will supervise up to three staff members.

Actively support assigned team/department by participating in and supporting all team/departmental initiatives, proactively communicating with supervision, meeting assigned goals and objectives, and committing to embracing process improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience Juris Doctor (J.
D.
) degree from an accredited law school.
Active Bar membership in California, in good standing, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in estate planning including elder law, preparation of wills / trusts, setting up advanced healthcare directives / guardianship, etc.
Fluency in Spanish is preferred to effectively communicate with the target community.
Asian language skills are a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills:
Ability to engage with diverse community members and convey complex legal concepts in an understandable manner.
Experience in program development:
Demonstrated ability to build and implement new initiatives or programs.
Supervisory
Experience:
Prior experience supervising legal staff and support personnel is highly desirable.
Grant management skills:
Experience with grant-funded projects and compliance.
Delivering reports to funders and meeting with funders regularly.
Commitment to public interest law:
Passion for serving vulnerable populations and promoting social justice.
Experience in other areas of law:
Experience within immigration, family law and public interest legal services is beneficial; Experience conducting community and/or street outreach, specifically to hard-to-reach populations; Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Empathy and compassion for individuals facing legal challenges and a commitment to providing high-quality services.
Proficiency in legal research, document preparation, and case management software is necessary.
Knowledge of community resources and experience in community outreach is beneficial.
Experience working in underserved communities such as undocumented workers, unaccompanied minors, LGBT populations, communities of color, youth/adolescents, and those experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, and/or mental illness.
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $130-150K.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
