We are looking for a full-time Laboratory Support Technician.
The position works closely with the Microbiology Managers to ensure fast turn-around time and high-quality service.
Responsibilities for Laboratory Support Technician:
Prepare bacteriological media and reagents Sample preparation, including sample enrichment and plating Operate autoclaves to sterilize media, reagents, and supplies Comply with all health, safety procedure and GLPs Wash and clean glassware and lab equipment Load and un-load autoclaved biohazard trash Must be able to lift 10lbs with each hand and pick up to 50lbs Ability to stand/walk 100% of the time Keep the sample preparation room, washroom, and equipment clean and organized Able to work under a fast-path environment Cross-train on multiple stations Ability to follow instructions, procedures and finish designated assignments on a timely manner.
Qualifications for Laboratory Support Technician:
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based on upon changing priorities.
Capacity for lifting-up to 50 lbs, reaching, bending, and twisting.
Handling samples according to SOPs and test methods.
Have flexible availability, and a positive attitude.
Must be able to work efficiently Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
