82 The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget.
Candidates are paid at the minimum of the salary range or no higher than the first quartile of the salary range.

POSITION SUMMARY To perform a variety of routine mailroom duties as well as provide support to the Purchasing department.
ESSENTIAL FUNUCTIONS Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.
Responsible for sorting, distributing, and processing large quantities of mail and packages received (from the Post Office, UPS, FedEx, and any other courier that delivers to us) to 400
employees, 70
departments as well as offsite regions and ministries.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule and have excellent attention to detail when sorting mail to avoid making a potential mistake due to constant changes.
Identify who the item is addressed to, where it is from, and what may be inside the package, sort accordingly in accord to the current Mailroom Procedures of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, which may be subject to change at any time.
Sort through all incoming packages to ensure that they follow the purchasing and printing policies of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Put those aside that do not follow those polices and deliver the approved packages.
Responsible for processing all outgoing mail and Shipments, making sure they all get out on time.
Stay up to date on all USPS, UPS, and FedEx shipping/mailing procedures.
Obtains and files all signed proof of deliveries of all letters and packages that have tracking information either by copying or mobile device.
Responsible for assembling general mailings, including copying, folding, stuffing, stapling, addressing, and metering.
Responsible for fulfilling Purchase Orders from stock and distributing to the end user.
Notifies the appropriate staff when stock of any item is low.
Performs various clerical backup duties, as necessary.
Reports any problems with Office Equipment to the appropriate staff or vendor.
Maintain delivery and pickup schedule.
May perform routine data posting and records maintenance work.
May serve as messenger.
Responsible for replenishing paper supply on each floor on a set schedule.
Computer data entry.
Assists in the execution of purchasing policies.
Assists in execution of Shipping/Receiving polices.
May travel to the main Post Office for processing Registered, and Express Mail.
Walk across the street to drop off FedEx and UPS Next day items.
Notifies the appropriate staff of low shipping and mailing supplies.
Contact the Post Office, UPS and/or FedEx when we have large shipments being sent out.
May need to sanitize copiers.
Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
Two years of high-volume sorting and distributing mail.
One year of computer experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of:
English usage, grammar, spelling, reading and punctuation.
Filing by date Modern office methods and procedures.
Skill in:
Telephone communication.
Must be efficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Memorizing Names and Departments for mail sorting Must be able to type efficiently, without mistakes.
Ability to:
Maintain confidentiality in all work-related areas.
Maintain professionalism in daily dealings with co-workers.
Be self-motivated.
Work at a fast pace Must be able to communicate well with employees and respond to various inquiries.
Follow oral and written directions.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Operate standard office equipment.
Follow and enforce policies when sorting.
Work with minimal supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Position involves sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day.
Requires ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 55 pounds, multiple times a day unassisted.
Over 55 pounds with assistance.
Physical agility required moving downward, upward, sideways by bending legs, arms, neck, and spine.
Physical ability to exert sufficient force to move objects horizontally and vertically in most cases using upper extremities and back muscles.
Sort mail into the correct location involving the movement of arms, wrists, hands, legs, neck, head, shoulders, etc.
Be able to walk up and down stairs on occasion.
Be able to go into the basement storage by themselves.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
