Job Description:
The Health Office of Compliance Services (OCS) serves both the David Geffen School of Medicine and the Health System.
The primary mission of OCS is to develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive ethics and compliance strategy and program.
This program is designed to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, identify and mitigate compliance violations, and promote ethical behavior throughout the Health system.
In our Office of Compliance Services (OCS), our Senior Hospital Auditor and Trainer will be responsible for collecting, collating, and analyzing hospital data to identify compliance risks or areas of potential non-compliance.
In this role, you will develop audit tools to perform various types of hospital compliance audits.
In addition, you will provide coding, billing and other compliance audits as directed and analyze and summarize audit findings in a clear precise manner.
Acting as an expert-level liaison for hospital compliance queries conducted thorough accurate research, you will provide training and education to the Health workforce on hospital compliance issues.
Required
Experience:
5
years' experience in a hospital coding, billing, utilization review, compliance, and/or related environment required Working knowledge of hospital coding and billing principles and practices required, including knowledge of ICD-10-PCS, ICD-10-CM; and CPT diagnostic and procedure codes, and Medicare prospective payment systems (including inpatient, outpatient, and home health) Experience reading, comprehending and implementing state and federal regulations, payer program memorandum, and other complex, technical and/or legal documents Experience reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing data in Excel and PowerPoint required Preferred
Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience Certifications in RHIA, RHIT or CCS by time of hire is highly desirable Senior Hospital Auditor and Trainer -SHAT24-00817 Recommended Skills Auditing Billing Certified Coding Specialist Ethics Icd 10 Medical Classification Medicare Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
