Job DetailsThe candidate will be involved in all accounting aspects of commercial real estate loan origination and underwriting businessResponsibilities include:
Process financial transactions, cash receipts, wire transfers and journal entries Reconcile bank accounts and resolve any differences in a timely manner Perform month-end close including reconciling general ledger accounts to supporting schedules Review fund management fee and waterfall calculations Liaise with third-party fund administrators to prepare capital calls and distribution notices to investors Prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules Compile monthly fund level performance metrics for management analysis and discussion Assist with management to prepare the quarterly investor letter Interact with asset management and originations team on loan closings and draw requests, including liaising with external loan servicer Work with management to refine internal processes to help increase efficiencies, reduce possibility of operational errors and grow the business Contribute to evaluating new software platforms and modules Coordinate the annual financial audit and tax return filings, including providing support to third-party service providers as requested Ad-hoc projects and assignments as directed by VP of Accounting
Qualifications:
Minimum of a 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; advanced degree beneficial.
Minimum of a 3-5 years prior public accounting/fund accounting experience Understanding of real estate fundamentals, transactions, and closings a plus Strong verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills Working knowledge in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Experience in Netsuite, Yardi, MRI or comparable accounting software Desire to be a member of a close-knit team of professionals who work in a collaborative environment High level of initiative and strong work ethic Outstanding organization, prioritization and keen attention to detail.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
