The Director of Desktop Engineering is responsible for the strategic direction of Desktop Engineering in support of business needs.
The role will lead a team of Desktop Engineers and Desktop Support Analysts in the design, maintenance and support of all desktop technologies and users across multiple physical and remote locations.
The Director of Desktop Engineering works closely with IT and business teams to align IT initiatives with business goals.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and support of all desktop infrastructure across multiple physical sites and remote locationsManage a team of Desktop Engineers, providing technical leadership, strategic direction, delegation of responsibility and identifying and providing staff developmentResearch, propose and implement enhancements to the desktop infrastructure to meet company objectivesResponsible for the delivery of Desktop Engineering projects on time and within budgetDevelop relationships with business stakeholders soliciting feedback on ways to improve support services and better align with business prioritiesWork with IT stakeholders, pursuing opportunities to leverage technology to achieve IT objectivesIntroduce and leverage industry standard reporting metrics through usage of KPI's, SLA's and OLA'sCompile weekly, quarterly and annual reports and metrics.
Report out to management and customersCreate and implement policies and procedures to maintain efficient operationsCollaborate with the IT Infrastructure and Information Security teams to improve and enhance desktop securityWork to continuously improve Desktop Engineering processes by providing new and innovative ideas to increase automation, add value and ensure quality customer servicePeriodic travel will be requiredRequired
Qualifications:
1.
10
years proven experience, designing, building and maintaining desktop technology infrastructure.
2.
5
years in Desktop/End User Services management positions of increasing responsibility.
3.
3 years' experience supporting government clients.
4.
Bachelor s degree in IT related discipline or equivalent experience.
5.
ITIL Foundation Certification required.
6.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience supporting and maintaining desktop, endpoints, and users.
Demonstrated experience implementing, managing and maintaining IT Service Management tools.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing IT strategies, policies, and proceduresAdvanced technical support experience with the following technologies:
Active Directory administrationMicrosoft Windows and Mac OS sOffice 365 applicationsOS and application deployment tools and imaging softwareComputer hardwareEndpoint Management Solutions Recommended Skills Active Directory Group Administration Apple Ios Automation Business Requirements Computer Architectures Apply to this job.
