Project Manager Patient Care Services - Full Time If you are interested please apply online and send your resume to email protected POSITION SUMMARY Under direction of the CNO or designee, this position is responsible for provides project management of key nursing administration projects as well as for providing hospital-wide project management for all aspects of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet designation and re-designation processes, verifying that all requirements are met prior to submission of application and document submission on time and in accordance with Magnet and Nursing Excellence criteria. This position will create and update project plans as well as analyze data related to benchmarks, target goals, and identifying opportunities that span across nursing and patient care services departments and the organization as a whole. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Project management:
Independently leads, designs, manages, executes and provides expert leadership to highly visible, sensitive and/or multifaceted projects. Collaborates with cross functional team members to develop objectives, project plans and performance measures that directly affect quality improvement, patient and nurse satisfaction as well as operational and administrative processes. Assists with developing and preparing project management tools, such as, charter, stakeholder rosters, Gantt charts for project scheduling and project decision making and monitoring tools for assigned initiatives that impact the nursing departments. Performs data analytics for projects, including but not limited to survey results, financial data, patient satisfaction data and performance improvement project data. Compiles and reports on data for operational needs both inside and outside the facility using the various data warehouses available. Assists with defining, researching, analyzing, and making recommendations for solutions to operating, financing, and other management problems of nursing departments, and participates in the implementation of solutions. Independently develops and provides professional and detailed project status reports that communicate progress, milestones and challenges to be addressed. Managers work of third party vendors and/or outside consultants. Communicates, clarifies, and enforces the timeline and tasks for each project in coordination with project leads and/or executive sponsor. Develops project budgets and collaborates with finance team to provide additional financial information and assure adherence to budget spending guidelines, when applicable. Instructs and educates on all aspects of projects; participates in developing training programs for different audiences. Continually monitors project performance to apply discovery to future projects. Participates in professional development in the form of conferences and learning seminars. Performs special assignments and projects, as directed. Magnet/Project Management:
Maintains expert knowledge of current Magnet requirements and ensures organization awareness of changes/updates. Performs Magnet manual crosswalk when a new Magnet Manual is released. Uses independent judgment and authority to maintain the accountability of deliverables on the project timeline. Is responsible for escalating deviations to the timeline when identified immediately to the Magnet Program Director. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with hospital-wide administration, nursing leadership and all staff to ensure achievement of goals related to Magnet readiness. Maintains and analyzes Magnet dashboards and shares with and Nursing Leadership Team regularly. Supports projects implemented at MLKCH that can be used as SOE for Magnet designation by assisting with planning, implementing, record keeping, and tracking data as approved by MPD Supports the MPD's preparation of the Magnet readiness gap analysis at varied phases of Magnet process. Coordinates readiness activities for Magnet appraisal site visit Assists in writing SOEs and providing evidence and empirical outcomes for the written document. Demonstrates excellent writing skills. Attends annual Magnet Conference and other training/conferences as needed. Demonstrates superior organization skills, strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, ability to multitask, ability to use databases/technology, and is proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Develops and maintains comprehensive data management systems that support information submission to the Magnet office and enables accurate tracking of key performance indicators including but not limited to ADAM Plus, DDCT, Organizational Overview, Sources of Evidence, and the timely delivery of the written document. Acts as Press Ganey Site Coordinator to manage the timely data collection and entry for the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI). Analyzes and reports nurse-sensitive quality data and benchmarking at both the unit and organization level. Maintains relationships and reporting requirements with 3rd party vendors not limited to Press Ganey, and data includes but is not limited to RN Engagement, Patient Engagement, and nursing sensitive indicators to assure compliance with ANCC Magnet Manual requirements. Shared Governance for Practice/Performance Improvement:
Acts as a project manager resource and performance improvement advisor for Shared Governance for Practice Attends and presents at Shared Governance for Practice meetings as needed Conducts data mining and analysis of data maintained within the data system for nursing performance improvement including Magnet requirements. Provides pertinent interpretations of data for appropriate program development revisions, and/or opportunities for growth and reports recommendations to nursing leadership. Facilitates workshops, retreats, and Kaizens for nursing professional development. Creates surveys, collates and analyzes the data developing and presenting appropriate reports. POSITION REQUIREMENTS A. Education Bachelor's degree in business, health care, organizational management, or related field is required Certified Project Management Professional preferred. B. Qualifications/Experience Three (3)
years of business or healthcare setting experience with progressively more complex responsibilities. Experience in health care process improvement and health operations implementation experience preferred. Training and certification in Lean to lead projects, train and coach other personnel and complete problem-solving projects required. C.
