We have two locations in the Los Angeles area, one an outpatient surgery center and the other a surgical hospital.
POSITION SUMMARY Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
OR Nurses also assist the surgeon and the surgical team in their tasks.
ACCOUNTABILITY Circulator report to the Charge RN, ASC Administrator, and Medical Director QUALIFICATIONS Graduate of an accredited nursing program Minimum 2 year experience in operative setting (spine & ortho preferred) Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board Federal-, State- credentials current and on file Cognitive skills as related to the position PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Hepatitis immunization (will be provided at no cost to the employee) or documented refusal to be vaccinated.
Evidence of negative Mantoux or chest x-ray annually (will be provided at no cost to the employee).
Able to maintain extensive standing and sitting.
Physically able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds, surgical instrumentation or equipment.
Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds.
Fine motor skills Visual acuity RESPONSIBILITIES Duties are as follows:
Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans Conducts pre- and post-operative education Serves as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team Takes and monitors patients' vital signs Ensures that operating on correct patient and the correct procedure is being performed Provides basic, bedside care.
Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications.
Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms Preps operating room for patient/procedure Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology Monitors patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the care continuum Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician.
Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their post-treatment home care needs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting During the surgical procedure, OR Nurses can take the role of:
Assists in positioning, responding to comfort/safety of patient Provides for accurate care and handling of specimens Observes and enforces strict standards of asepsis Observes, checks and monitors all equipment used during surgery to confirm they are running smoothly Completes required intra-operative charting and patient documentation Inventories all items both pre- and post-surgery Assists anesthesiologist as needed Assists surgical technician with instrumentation as needed Staffing is based on a Team Work concept, thus, employees may be cross-trained in other clinical areas and may be expected to perform duties other than those stated above, as staffing and patient needs change.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
