Financial Services Analyst 3 University of California Los Angeles Department Summary The mission of the UCLA Anderson Business Office is to provide high quality service to our customers through the efficient processing of financial transactions and the timely, accurate, and meaningful reporting of financial information. These services are provided in accordance with University policies and procedures to ensure sound fiscal responsibility and regulatory compliance. Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Finance Director, the Senior Fund Manager will have broad reach and oversight of all of the School's funds including and not limited to, Sales and Service, Business Contracts, Fee Funds, State Funds, Gift funds, and Contracts and Grants. Provide exceptional customer service, advice, consultation and oversight to assigned units regarding procurement, accounts payable, travel activity, overall funds management, and transactional inquiries. Advise on guidelines and fund restrictions. Monitor and maintain the health of funds and prepare fund transfers, MTFs, OpEx adjustments (NPEAR), and Salary Cost Transfers. Ensure that units incur expenses according to their approved budgets and analyze actuals to budgets. Salary & Compensation UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications Customer Service Strong customer service skills, demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good relations with all levels of employees, maintaining an air of approachability and commitment to service. (Required) Fund Accounting Working knowledge of fund accounting and fund management principals. (Required) Policy Working knowledge of UCLA financial and budgetary policies, processes. (Preferred) University Systems Working knowledge of university Financial systems, including but not limited to BruinBuy Plus and Legacy, Concur, CashNet, CashPro. (Preferred) Communication Experience explaining technical concepts to a variety of clients with varying levels of understanding of University accounting. (Required) Ability to analyze situations, define problems and objectives, and proactively implement solutions. (Required) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. (Required) Demonstrated skill in training and mentoring team members. (Required) Strong technical skills in maintaining and updating websites and applications. (Required) Ability to work independently with minimal or little supervision, using initiative to perform job duties. (Required) Ability to perform multiple, diverse assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. (Required) Demonstrated ability to foster a harmonious and productive work environment. (Required) Direct experience handling institutional purchasing, reimbursements, and depository activities. (Required) Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to purchasing, travel, and entertainment. (Preferred) Ability to research complex administrative issues as they relate to purchasing and reimbursement, and fund management. (Required) Establish and maintain excellent working relations with Anderson employees, vendors, students, and other affiliates. (Required) Ability to maintain confidentiality of information related to financial and personnel matters. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, or economics, or University finance and transactional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
