04 an hour Purpose Assists in maintaining standards of student discipline and ensuring the observance of rules and procedures by students and others on a school campus and at bus loading points at the direction of a school administrator or teacher.
The Campus Aide may be assigned to work in one or more of the following areas and will be cross trained in all duty areas listed below.
Principal will assign tasks and schedule.
Job Duties Meal Service in the Classroom (as applicable) Prep for Breakfast in Classroom Serve breakfast to students Bag and Empty trash after breakfast in the classroom Wipe down food bags and carts Cover classrooms during nutrition (as applicable) Prepare for Lunch in the classroom Serve lunch to students Cover classrooms during lunch (as applicable) Bag and Empty trash after lunch in the classroom Wipe down food bags and carts Maintain meal service equipment including refrigerator.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Grab and Go Meals (as applicable) Prep for Grab and Go Meals Set up tables, canopies, and signage according to the ISANA Grab and Go meal distribution plan.
Pack Grab and Go meal bags and distribute them to families.
Complete meal tally sheet and turn in to SOM.
Tear down, clean up and sweep meal distribution area.
Bag and empty trash after meal distribution.
Maintain meal service equipment including refrigerator.
Performs other duties as assigned.
On Site Meal Service Prep for on-site meal service, before school breakfast, Second Chance Breakfast, and lunch.
Set up and sanitize meal service tables, POS station with laptop and scanner, menu board, Share Table with share box(es), and canopies.
Wipe down student meal tables before meal service and then between each group of students.
Scan meal distribution for students, manage share table, supervise students while they eat.
Clean up after each group of students, sweep meal service area and bag and empty trash.
After final meal service for the day, return service tables and meal service equipment to appropriate storage location.
Maintain meal service equipment including refrigerator.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Yard Supervision Set up morning student drop off and afternoon student pick-up, i.
e.
, cones, vests, sweep school entrance.
Clear drop off or pick-up equipment and lock entry gates.
Patrols school corridors, locker rooms, rest rooms, assembly and athletic facilities, gymnasiums, bus-loading areas, and other campus locations in order to observe student behavior and prevent violations or unsafe activities.
Complete student incident reports.
Report all threats to health and safety, and incidents of misbehavior to the proper school authority.
Dismissal support.
Respond to all alarms, security situations, breaches, maintenance problems, and fire and building hazards.
Document all events previously listed.
Direct students and others and take action, as necessary, to prevent injury to persons or damage to property.
Manage the playground and meal areas during student breakfast, recess and lunch breaks.
Assist school administrators in contacting parents regarding students with behavioral problems and in discussing campus security with parent and community groups.
Assist a certificated employee in supervising students during field trips and special events.
Ensure that school property is secure and locked when appropriate.
Provide safety escorts for student, staff, faculty, and guests when requested.
Direct campus visitors to the appropriate parties and prevent unlawful loitering.
Deliver, set up, lay out, or collect equipment and other materials.
Complete all documentation and reports as established by school site personnel.
Paint over graffiti as necessary.
Bag and dispose of trash in trash bin.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Front Office Perform daily entry screening and temperature checks.
Answer front office phones, take messages and send phone messages via email.
Locate cumulative files.
Place attendance phone calls.
Prep outgoing distribution packets to parents.
Distribute staff mail and classroom supplies.
Unpack and store office supply orders.
Refill copy machine paper.
Provide safety escorts for student, staff, faculty, and guests when requested.
Retrieve students from classroom as needed.
Assist with classroom emergency backpacks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Sanitizing and Facility Maintenance Wipe down high touch surface in common areas and restrooms (Light switches, doorknobs, faucets, flushing mechanism, partition doors) (schedule to be set by principal).
After School - wipe down desks and chairs of classrooms to be used for after school.
Sweeps and maintains front office and high traffic areas throughout the day.
Assists Facilities Maintenance Technician as needed.
Classroom Assistance Assist classroom teachers with support, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Distinguishing Characteristics Among Related Classes A Campus Aide patrols school facilities in order to prevent violations of rules or safe practices.
Employees in the classes designated as (Female) or (Male) are required to enter restrooms or locker rooms that are restricted to persons of the designated sex.
Employees in the (Restricted) classes are employed in accordance with Education Code Section 45105 or 45108.
Employees in the classes designated (Spanish Language) are required to speak Spanish as part of their duties, for which they receive a salary differential.
An Education Aide III works in a school under the immediate supervision of a teacher or certificated employee.
Assigned duties involve assisting in instructional reinforcement activities with students.
An Early Education Center Aide I performs beginning level work of gradually increasing responsibility in assisting in meeting the developmental and educational needs of children.
An Early Education Center Aide II assists teachers in the development and preparation of instructional materials and assists in assessing developmental levels.
SUPERVISION Supervision is received from a school administrator or teacher.
No supervision is exercised over District employees.
CLASS QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of:
Safety rules and procedures to be observed by students Standards of courtesy and behavior expected of students Adolescent development and problems Vocabulary and usage of terms common to youth in the area served by the school Ability to:

Experience:
Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency.
Special:
A valid California Driver License and use of an automobile may be required for some positions.
Completion of a State approved campus safety training program required of employees assigned more than 20 hours a week.
Food Service Handler Certification within the first 30 days of employment.
