Kleinfelder is looking for the right person to help us manage and grow our Environmental Compliance practice in Southern California. This position can sit in our Irvine or Los Angeles office and will help lead our compliance and air quality practice efforts in southern California, across the state and nationally. This is an exciting and challenging position that requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a highly organized and responsive candidate, capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.
Expectations include:
Responsible for the development, growth, senior technical oversight, and execution of environmental compliance and air quality projects/programs in southern California.
Must have strong project management skills with proven responsibility for scope/schedule/budget.
Leverages existing client relationships and builds new client relationships to develop projects in the region and abroad.
Must be able to work independently and as integral team member/leader, using knowledge of industry and/or professional guidelines and protocols to accomplish goals and objectives and solve problems of diverse scope.
Other responsibilities include managing and mentoring staff, developing and implementing business strategies, and ensuring the safe execution of all phases of project work to meet our clients' objectives as well as company goals for revenue generation and profitability.
Responsibilities
Client/Business Development
As a practice builder/doer seller, identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take an active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
Through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development, capitalize on existing client relationships to expand market share in the local market, while serving national/global clients as necessary.
Technical/Project Management
Working with our existing client base, including private industry, municipal, transportation and energy market accounts, direct and prepare Air Quality Permits/Plans/Reports, Compliance Audits, Construction and Industrial Storm Water Plans, Spill Prevention Plans, Hazardous Materials Business Plans, Annual Emissions Reports, Fuel tanks systems (UST/AST) compliance, and other supporting technical studies.
Risk Management and Process Safety Management experience are a plus.
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and ensure quality is achieved on project deliverables.
Practice Leadership
Provide leadership in managing staff performance, recruiting and retention, and mentoring personnel for overall success of practice team.
Develop a working understanding of Kleinfelder's other core service lines and support cross-selling goals.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Industrial Hygiene, or other related field. Master's degree or equivalent desired.
Experience: 10 15 years of related experience, 5 6 years demonstrating successful development and management of environmental compliance programs and demonstrated achievements in selling environmental consulting services. 2 4 years of client account management and project/program management experience desired.
Certification/Registration: Related professional certifications preferred.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
