Addicition Psychiatrist (Full-time)

VA Greater Los Angeles (GLA) is seeking an enthusiastic Psychiatrist who is Board Certified/Board Eligible in Addictions Psychiatry to join a team of dedicated Mental Health Providers among the Mental Health Service who will serve on a Full-time basis. Addiction Psychiatrist major duties and responsibilities include:
Provides outpatient psychiatric management for Veterans in the Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Clinic, including diagnostic evaluation; management of general psychiatric medications; medication-assisted treatment of substance use disorders (alcohol, opioids, tobacco, etc.), consistent with VHA, SAMHSA, and other relevant guidelines; and psychotherapy as clinically appropriate. Provides diagnostic evaluation in complex cases that may involve SUD, e.g., co-occurring SUD and other mental disorders, distinguishing substance-induced vs. primary mental disorders, and co-occurring chronic pain and possible opioid use disorder. Refers patients for primary and specialty medical care as appropriate. Collaborates and contributes effectively as a member of the SUD Clinic multidisciplinary team. Provides in-service education for the SUD Clinic team. Maintains collegial, collaborative professional relationships with physicians in all clinical services in the Health System, including Psychiatry, Medicine, Ambulatory Care, Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Rehabilitation Medicine, etc., as warranted for excellent patient care. Staff physicians may also include attendings who train physician residents assigned in facilities with residency training programs, and consultants who are capable of giving authoritative views and opinions on subjects in their field of medicine. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Board Certified or Board Eligible Addiction Psychiatry. Reference:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
